Zoombo Zed
"Zoombo Zed (credited fully as Zoombo Zed Libende) is a Congolese rapper-singer releasing in Lingala from the Democratic Republic of Congo, active on his own YouTube channel since at least 2023. His current single is "Leo çava," out April 28, 2026 under the Élémentaire Project imprint — a step up from his self-released YouTube-first run of "Tayari" (his most-watched release to date), "Mboloko" (late 2024), "Maman Bokilo," "Menomi," and a run of shorter dance-challenge singles built for viral reach."
Zoombo Zed identifies himself, in his own YouTube channel description, as "l'artiste rapeur chanteur RDcongolais Zoombo zed libende" — a Congolese rapper-singer performing under the fuller name Zoombo Zed Libende. His public footprint begins with that channel, now sitting at close to 2,800 subscribers across more than 50 uploads, with his earliest widely-viewed release, the official video for "Tayari," dating back to 2023.
His catalogue is built in Lingala, aimed squarely at DRC and Great Lakes audiences, and splits into two lanes: fuller single releases with official videos ("Tayari," "Mboloko," "Maman Bokilo," "Menomi") and shorter, challenge-style clips designed around dance trends ("Bwana," "Ndjo Kaji," "Kimbiya"). That second lane points to an artist building an audience through social virality as much as through streaming numbers — a common strategy for independent Congolese urban acts working outside Kinshasa's major-label system.
"Tayari," his 2023 official video, remains his most-viewed upload to date. His release pattern of roughly one to two full singles a year continued with "Mboloko" (November 16, 2024), and RIA's own release catalog now lists "Leo çava" — out April 28, 2026 under the Élémentaire Project imprint — as his current, most recent single, his first release carrying a label banner beyond his own YouTube channel. No public writeup of "Leo çava" beyond its title, date, and label has surfaced, so no theme or backstory is invented for it here. He maintains active accounts on Instagram (@zoombozed_officiel) and Facebook, both under his own name, feeding the same audience across platforms.
Between "Tayari," "Mboloko," and now "Leo çava," Zoombo Zed has built a modest but real subscriber base without the backing of a major regional press cycle — his profile is documented almost entirely through his own channels and RIA's release records rather than third-party coverage, which is itself a fair description of where he currently sits in his career: independent, self-distributed, and building, now under a new label imprint. No public quote or mantra from the artist is currently on record.
